How we review software

Last updated November 2026

Every TrialItFirst review uses the same method, so scores can be compared across products in a category.

What we research

  • The vendor's current pricing pages, plan limits and free-trial terms
  • Product documentation, feature lists and integration directories
  • Public feedback from verified users on independent review platforms
  • Security, compliance and data-hosting information the vendor publishes

How scores work

Each product is scored out of 10 on features, ease of use, value for money and support. The overall score weighs those for the kind of business the category serves. Every review also says who the product suits and who should look elsewhere.

How reviews are written

We use AI tools to help gather research and draft reviews. Every draft is checked against our quality rules and editorial guidelines before it is published, and is re-checked when a vendor changes pricing or features.

Keeping reviews current

Reviews older than 90 days are re-checked against the vendor's current pricing and features. The date at the top of each page shows when it was last updated.

Independence

Vendors cannot pay for a score, a ranking or a review. Some links earn us a commission. See our affiliate disclosure.
